Top 10 Books (or so) for ages 13 -16 in No Particular Order

Same rules as my last list: no classics, just books I've generally discovered in the last 10 years. It is by no means a complete list; rather, it is the start of a very long list of good books for teenagers.

  1. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
  1. Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelson
  1. Seer of Shadows by Avi
  1. Cut by Patricia McCormick
  1. Monster by Walter Dean Myers
  1. Maus I: A Survivor's Tale: My Father Bleeds History by Art Speigelmn
  1. An Acquaintance with Darkness by Ann Rinaldi
  1. The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side by Agatha Christie
  1. The Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ by Sue Townsend
  1. The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey
  1. Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr

And a Couple of Non-fiction Books too

The Story of the World (in 4 volumes) By Wise Bauer (this book can be for a younger crowd too but is necessary for a good understanding of history so I listed it for high school students)

Go Ask Alice by Anonymous

A Child called “It” by Dave Pelzer

Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back by T. Burpo
