Lemon Rice

I found this recipe from Cdn Living  Magazine. Jamie Oliver's site has the same recipe only he has added a tbsp of olive oil, which I will add next time too.

 

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup jasmine rice ( I used brown, long-grain rice)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp grated lemon rind
  • 1 chopped green onion, (green part only)

Preparation

In saucepan, bring water, rice and salt to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer until tender and no liquid remains, about 20 minutes.

Stir in lemon rind and green onion. Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Source : Canadian Living Magazine: December 2007

  1. This sounds good but isn't it a lot of fuss for nothing? We can buy flavouring at the grocer's and have the same result.
